Mahwah High School is a good school if your child is a socially accepted student. Anyone who is labeled any kind of stereotype will retain that stereotype until they graduate, no matter how they change. Teachers and staff tend to generalize about the students as well, making invalid statements about certain people's learning abilities. Also, the assistant principal is a conniving woman. There is no security of information either. Students who have been punished in any way that it would be a reason to label them (ie. violence, disrespect, emotional problems, etc.) have had their records released to local officials. Several students whom I've attended MHS with are now labeled by sources outside of the school. If you don't want your child to be labeled as something that they're not you would do well to send them to another school.

IMO MHS continues to be one of the better schools in northern Bergen County. Good courses and programs, and the teachers and administrators care about the students.

I feel that too much time, money and effort is put into athletics and not enough effort is spent on what really needs attention. Athletics are nice, but they aren't essential. The school wasted money on chairs with

There are many sports and extra-curricular activities offered at Mahwah High School. We have a great band program as well. However, I am not happy with the quality of my education. I do not find the teachers to be that great. I'd say I am one of only a few who feel this way though. All of my friends seem happy with their education. I'm just a radical thinker =P Mahwah High School offers ways to graduate early and other programs that are great for students, so I can deal. It's a great plus =)

Mahwah High School is ranked 28th out of the top 75 public high schools in the state by NJ Monthly Magazine in 2002. I am extremely proud of our students academic progress, athletic participation, and their involvement in co-curricular activities. Thank you for always being on your best behavior. You bring Thunderbird Pride and Spirit to our school. It is my honor to be your principal.

I have found teachers and administrators at Mahwah High School very accomodating and willing to listen to my view points. In fact, they should be commended for all the guidance and help they gave my daughter. They really go out of their way to meet their student's needs.

My experience at Mahwah High School has truly been wonderful. The administration, the teachers, and in fact the entire staff have not only been caring and attentive, but have moved the academics to a level that is top rate. MHS has consistently had seniors accepted to Harvard, Cornell, UPenn, you name it! Great school.

Mahwah High School is not the safest enviroment for my two children. There are numerous fights and diciplinary problems. The extracurricular activities and course selection are exeptional. Unfortunately the administration do not listen to the children's needs.
